Turkish Cuisine Celebrated in Sofia, Bulgaria

With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sofia, a special evening was held at the Ramada Hotel for 250 distinguished guests. The richness and depth of Turkish cuisine were once again presented to an international audience.
His Excellency Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, the last King of Bulgaria, ministers and members of parliament from the Bulgarian government, media representatives, business leaders, and other distinguished guests attended. A special menu featuring distinctive dishes from Türkiye’s seven regions was served.
The evening offered guests more than a meal: it was a journey through culture, history, and geography. In his address, National Cuisine Movement President Öner Çulfaz said: “Turkish cuisine is not simply food; it is the legacy of our past, the voice of our culture, and a guarantee for our future. Geography shapes destiny, destiny shapes culture, and culture finds expression in food. We are honoured to bring Türkiye’s thousand-year-old table to the heart of Bulgaria tonight.”
