Balkan and Turkish Cuisine Meet in Thessaloniki

At the Balkan and Turkish Cuisine event in Thessaloniki, Türkiye was represented by Eda Tuncel, Chair of the Women’s Branch of the Confederation of All Chefs and Pastry Chefs (TAŞPAKON), and Dr. Zeynep Ceren Akkök, Senior Adviser to the President. They introduced the people of Greece to the ancient culture of Van breakfast and other traditional Turkish flavours.
The distinctive dishes attracted great interest and praise from the people of Thessaloniki. Anatolia’s rich culinary heritage inspired visitors throughout the event. President Öner Çulfaz noted that Turkish cuisine is not only a food culture but also a wonderful way to build bridges of fellowship, sharing, and friendship. He said it was a pleasure to share geographically indicated regional foods such as Van breakfast with people across the Balkans.
We will continue introducing the richness and variety of Turkish cuisine on international platforms and strengthening friendship between cultures.
